Meet Maria & Nicole:
We are Nicole & Maria and are thrilled to have you here!
We live in North Texas and have been great friends for over 10 years. We have 5 children between our two families and have both homeschooled from the very beginning. We collectively have over 30 years of secular homeschool experience and we have so much to share with you! There may be wine and we may go off topic from time to time so sit back and join us as we share honest tips and advice for what’s worked for us and what hasn’t to help you on your journey.
We couldn’t have done it without all our homeschool friends who guided us over the years on our journey. The Been There Done That Homeschool Podcast was created as a way for us to pay it forward and give back to the secular homeschool community. Enjoy!
Maria
Maria is a single mom and has graduated one child with a homeschool high school diploma, in addition to an Associates degree with honors at the local community college. They have gone on to a 4 year university studying Biomedical Engineering. Her second child is homeschooling for high school and is currently enrolled in dual credit courses at the local community college and will follow the path of their sibling. Maria has continued to thrive as a homeschool educator from the beginning and also as a divorced single woman
Nicole
Nicole has graduated two of her three children from her homeschool. They both earned their homeschool high school diploma, in addition to their Associates degrees from the local community college upon graduation. Her first graduate has gone on to earn their dual Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History with a focus in Economics. Her second child is currently studying English and Psychology and minoring in Secondary Education at a 4 year university. Her third child is homeschooling for high school and will begin dual credit courses in the next year to follow the path of their siblings. Nicole has thrived as a homeschool educator while navigating the regulation of 4 different states due to her family’s relocations.
